November Challenge: Caning

March Challenge Bottles of Hope

bottle of hope challenge 013-500For this challenge our members used their skills for charity by creating entries for Bottles of Hope like the fun little mushroom on the right by Phoebe Doehring of HappyCreations4u. PCAGOE Guild Member Jackie Sieben of ThePleasantPheasant will be bringing these bottles as well as additional ones made by our members to St. Mary's Cancer Center and the Nevada Cancer Institute in Reno. These centers give a bottle to each person as they complete chemotherapy or radiation treatments.

Jackie has collected hundreds of bottles donated from our guild as well as another guild, and even with giving each person only one bottle after their treatment, they still run out of them. So sad.

The hospital keeps our bottles in a glass wall case that is right outside the chemo treatment rooms. The patients look at them and pick their favorites in hopes that particular bottle will still be there when they finish their final treatment.

February Challenge
Critters/Wings

FleurEntries for the February PCAGOE challenge were BEAUTIFUL! This challenge: "Critters/Wings" had many of our talented members using their creative skills to sculpt, mold, and cane their way into our imaginations! The adorable dragon on the left is by our new PCAGOE president, Cindy Matthews! He couldn't possibly breathe fire - think this one only gives hugs!
